Aava is a convolution plugin that lets you shape impulse responses in real time, even at audio rates. It supports up to four IR layers, tempo-synced rhythmic IRs, and key-tracked pitched IRs for tonal sources like drones. You can record IRs directly from input, sidechain, or output—up to 600 seconds—and even record while using an IR for experimental sound design. A morphable LFO with unique waveforms, tempo-syncable sample & hold, AD/AR envelopes, an envelope follower, and a key follower provide extensive modulation options, and all parameters can be modulated. The visual IR editor lets you trim and add fades with zoom for detailed adjustments. The Explore Map saves plugin states as nodes for morphing between them, working like an XY controller or for fading IR parts. With over 100 creative presets, Aava suits hobby producers into sound design, ambient, and experimental music. It runs as VST3 or CLAP on Windows and works in FL Studio, Ableton, and Logic.
