Vital is a visual wavetable synthesizer that lets you see what’s happening behind the scenes with animated controls, filter responses, waveforms, smooth LFOs, oscilloscopes, and spectrograms. It’s aimed at hobby music producers who want a hands-on, visually informative synth for electronic music production. This update adds spectral warp modes (custom filter, flanger, phaser), a seed option for random amplitude spectral warp, subharmonic unison, and wavetable editor options like normalize and DC offset. It runs natively on Apple silicon, adds ASIO support to the standalone version, and includes MIDI learn assignment indicators. Performance improvements include faster plugin creation, optimized CPU usage above 48kHz, quicker window opening/closing and browser searching, and a new skin editor with bloom and blur effects. Graphics now use DirectX11 on Windows and Metal on macOS. It works as a plugin in major DAWs and as a standalone application, making it suitable for producers using FL Studio, Ableton, or Logic on Windows or Mac.
