Voxengo MSED is a free plugin for mid-side processing that lets you split a stereo signal into mid and side components, or combine a mid-side pair back into stereo. It works in inline mode, so you can adjust mid and side gain and panning without chaining two instances. You can also flip the phase of either channel by 180 degrees, swap left and right, or extract just the mid or side signal. The interface includes a plasma vector scope plus stereo correlation and balance meters, giving you visual feedback on the stereo field. This makes MSED useful for stereo widening, imaging adjustments, and monitoring stereo content. It supports 64-bit floating point processing, zero latency, all sample rates, and has a resizable UI with color schemes. It runs as VST, VST3, AU, or AAX on Windows and Mac, including Apple Silicon.
