XILS 201 Vocoder by XILS Lab turns speech, vocals and rhythmic material into articulate, vintage-flavoured electronic textures. Modelled on a rare hardware vocoder, it pairs two 20-band filter banks with an internal analogue-modelled carrier synth for classic robotic voices and singing chords. Feed it MIDI notes to shape your vocal melody, or use an external synth, voice or other audio signal as the carrier for more experimental results. Per-band controls and frequency-dependent envelope following let you refine the response, particularly with drums and percussive loops. Chorus, phaser, delay and reverb add movement and atmosphere, with configurable routing and effect order. You can also skip the vocoding and use it as a filter-bank and multi-effects processor.
