XILS Vocoder 5000 by XILS Lab brings the character of the 1976 EMS 5000 analog vocoder into a flexible sound-design effect. Turn spoken phrases into melodic lines, build choir-like textures from a single voice, or reshape drums, guitars and synths with detailed filtering. Its sound combines organic analog character with clear vocal articulation, while the built-in synthesizer draws on XILS Lab’s VCS 3 oscillator modelling. Start with presets and the main control panel, then open the advanced panels for deeper editing. Adjustable band counts, filter types, two LFOs, FM and PWM controls offer plenty of scope for experimentation. A freely drawable routing matrix with its own presets helps you save useful setups for different voices. It suits producers exploring classic vocoder vocals as well as adventurous electronic textures and rhythm-driven synth patterns.
