XT Software energyXT 2.6 is a digital audio workstation for recording, sequencing and mixing music on Windows. Rather than a single-purpose effect or instrument plugin, it provides a workspace for hobby producers who want to build songs from audio recordings, MIDI parts and loops. Record vocals or instruments through a USB audio interface, arrange and edit tracks, then add effects and balance your mix.

Version 2.6 includes 400 loops and 32 instruments from Loopmasters. Its tempo track supports tempo changes and fractional values, while MIDI and drum processing options let you explore ideas with randomized event order and half- or double-tempo transformations. Drum parts also support reverse processing, and drum kits can be replaced using a drum preset or REX file.

Samples can be dragged from the audio pool into the sequencer or drum sampler. Track folders, split-at-cursor editing and zoom shortcuts help keep arrangements manageable. With VST support, automation recording and channel selection for multi-output instruments, energyXT offers a standalone production environment for musicians seeking a portable, flexible workflow.
