Yamaha C7 Platinum

The Yamaha C7 Platinum from EastWest Sounds is a meticulously sampled acoustic piano instrument that captures the character of a classic Yamaha C7 grand. Its balanced mid-range and delicate high-end sparkle make it ideal for blues, folk, stride, ragtime, and old American classics, while also sitting beautifully in orchestral arrangements. The library offers extensive velocity layers—10–18 per note for sustain and pedal sustain—plus dedicated repetition samples taken from 180 BPM performances for authentic repeated notes. You also get soft pedal articulations, staccato, release trails, and pedal resonance recorded at multiple velocities. Eight articulations cover sustain, repetitions, soft pedal, staccato, and release trails, with mic position mixing, stereo swap, and lid simulation for shaping the sound. Recorded with vintage Neumann mics, Meitner converters, and a Neve console, it delivers a smooth, expressive tone that invites jazzy ornaments and nuanced playing. Ideal for producers and composers seeking a versatile, character-rich piano.
