Pyramids by MNTRA Instruments is a unique instrument built from pure quartz pyramids tuned to the precise ratios of the Great Pyramids of Egypt. Part of the Elemental series, it captures the crystalline resonance of these physical objects and expands them into a versatile virtual instrument for MNDALA 2. The sound is transparent yet immersive, with acoustic vibrato when spun and complex beat frequencies that interact with harmonics. Ultrasonic sampling and Extended Range Audio (E.R.A.) stretch the samples to reveal slow fluctuations and subtle movements, while Sample Start Modulation (SSM) uses velocity or random modulation to scan the sample start point for dynamic, ever-changing performances. Guest artists Christopher LaRosa and Steffen Ki helped shape its sonic potential.
