Bosendorfer 290 Platinum

Bosendorfer 290 Platinum is a deeply sampled virtual piano from EastWest Sounds, prized for its warm, buttery tone that sits beautifully in both gentle, bouncy passages and sustained legato lines. Unlike brighter concert grands, it favors smoothness and richness, especially when the sustain pedal is engaged. The library captures an impressive range of articulations—sustain, pedal sustain, true repetitions, soft pedal, staccato, and release trails—with multiple velocity layers for each. Repetition samples were taken from real 180 BPM performances, and the software detects true repetitions for natural response. Recorded with vintage Neumann microphones, Meitner converters, and a Neve console, it offers mic position mixing, stereo swap, and lid simulation. Ideal for producers and composers seeking an expressive, orchestral-quality piano for pop, classical, film, or ambient music.
