Toontrack Upright EBX is an acoustic bass sound expansion for EZbass, built around a sampled Corsini Elite upright made by Romanian luthier Calin Wultur. It brings the rounded attack, dark body and natural resonance of a plucked double bass to jazz, pop, rock and acoustic productions. For home producers and songwriters who want an alternative to electric bass, it offers a focused palette for building upright bass parts.
The instrument was recorded through an onboard piezo pickup and five different microphone configurations. Included presets draw on these recordings to provide varied tones and microphone blends, giving you starting points for different arrangements without having to shape every sound from scratch.
A dedicated MIDI library accompanies the sounds, with basslines tailored to the instrument and to fretless and upright playing styles. Use these patterns as writing material when developing a rhythm section or exploring a new arrangement. Upright EBX is an EZbass expansion rather than a standalone bass plugin; this listing covers the Windows soundbank.
