apulSoft apShaper is a harmonic distortion effect for producers who want anything from gentle tape-style warmth to aggressive wavefolding. It suits hobby musicians and sound designers shaping drums, bass, synths or other audio tracks in Windows hosts such as FL Studio and Ableton Live.

Five waveshaping engines cover harmonic processing, tube coloration, saturation, stepped bit reduction and wavefolding. Its integration-based processing works on a continuous model of the signal to keep aliasing low, including when using sharper distortion curves. Three filter bands can sit before or after the shaping stage, with amp-style tone stacks and a variable-slope low-pass option for controlling bright, heavily driven sounds.

For movement, two LFOs, two dynamics detectors and three assignable knobs feed a modulation system with up to 16 rules. Sidechain input lets external audio influence the dynamics-based modulation. An independently filtered dry path and dry/wet mixing help retain the original character alongside the distortion. Spectrum and waveform displays, input/output meters, preset import/export and unlimited undo/redo make detailed adjustments easier to manage.
