The Schoeps Double MS Tool is a specialized decoder plugin for audio recorded with a Double M/S (three-microphone) setup. It takes the three signals from a Double M/S array and converts them into a 5.0 surround mix, while also offering a stereo output option. The real-time WYSIWYG interface lets you adjust virtual microphone parameters like polar pattern, offset angle, rotation, and gain, with a colored polar plot showing the patterns as you work. You can also boost or cut the diffuse sound extracted by an adaptive algorithm, increase decorrelation for a wider spatial impression, and refine front/back localization using a high-cut filter and delay on the rear channels. Although calibrated for the Schoeps Double M/S microphone, it works with any Double M/S setup. This tool is aimed at hobby producers and engineers working with surround or immersive audio who need precise, intuitive control when decoding Double M/S recordings. It runs as VST3, AU, AAX, and x64 on Windows and Mac.
