This free plugin brings the Ensoniq SD-1 32-voice synthesizer to your DAW as a cycle-accurate emulation built on MAME and JUCE. It runs as VST3 on Windows, macOS, and Linux, with an AU build for Logic, GarageBand, MainStage, Ableton Live, Studio One, and Reaper on Mac. A built-in preset and disk manager lets you browse and play sounds from internal RAM/ROM, cartridges, and external folders, including VFX, VFX-SD, and SD1 .SYX files plus .HFE/.IMG disk images. You can import and export single programs, presets, and full banks without fiddling with SysEx menus. ROM installation is simplified: the plugin shows a warning screen with a Locate ROMs button and handles .zip, .bin, or folder selection transparently. Every panel button can be MIDI-automated, and a preset-saving macro helps users without controllers. You get four panel layouts, a resizable GUI with VFD display, buffer settings, stereo main and optional dry aux outputs, and state saving. It is aimed at hobby producers and retro-synth fans who want authentic SD-1 sounds in FL Studio, Ableton, or Logic. Known limits: no GUI-side automation assignment yet, and no floppy drive sound.
