P42 Climax is a multifaceted powerstrip plugin for tone shaping, coloration, and saturation. It models the behavior of a hardware line amp, offering a chameleon-like character that can adapt to various coloring hardware devices without copying any single one. The plugin includes a signature shelving EQ (low and high), low-pass and high-pass filters, and a tube-like odd harmonics saturation slider. It works with mono, dual mono, or stereo signals and all parameters are exposed for DAW automation. With very low CPU usage and zero sample latency, you can run hundreds of instances in a single session. It is suitable for processing individual instruments, grouped tracks, the 2-bus, or even mastering. Mid/Side processing, detailed metering (peak, RMS, LUFS), and auto gain compensation make it a good fit for mastering chains. It works magic on drum bus, snare, and bass guitar, and opens up mixes when inserted on the 2-bus. Ideal for hobby producers using FL Studio, Ableton, or Logic on Windows.
