Analog Obsession UREQ is a free analog-modeled EQ plugin for producers who want straightforward tone shaping with optional saturation. Its simplified U-style design uses SPICE circuit modeling, with bandwidth behavior that changes according to frequency and gain rather than a separate Q control.
Four bands provide up to 16 dB of boost or cut, each with three selectable frequencies: 60, 110 or 180 Hz for lows; 400 Hz, 830 Hz or 1.4 kHz for low mids; 2, 4.4 or 7.4 kHz for high mids; and 5, 11 or 18 kHz for highs. Fixed 80 Hz high-pass and 12 kHz low-pass filters offer additional control over the frequency extremes.
The gain-compensated input lets you drive the modeled line amplifier and filter circuit for saturation, while input and output controls each offer a ±16 dB range. Touchscreen support and a 50–200% resizable interface help fit different setups.
UREQ suits hobby producers working in FL Studio or Ableton Live on Windows 10–11 via VST3. Windows AAX is also available; the Windows version requires OpenGL-capable graphics.
