Bom Shanka Machines asimilonGate is a rhythmic gate effect for turning sustained audio into chopped, repeating patterns. Aimed at hobby producers making trance and other electronic styles, it offers a practical way to add movement to pads, held chords, and similar sounds without manually editing each cut.
The internal sequencer supports patterns from 3 to 16 steps and provides four step types for shaping the gating sequence. You can let the sequencer run freely or control it with MIDI, depending on how you want the effect to follow your arrangement. For a more direct approach, asimilonGate can also work as a simple MIDI-controlled gate rather than relying on its internal pattern.
Adjustable attack and decay times let you shape how the gated sound opens and fades, while the mix control determines how much of the effect you hear alongside the original signal. This Windows plugin is for producers who want straightforward rhythmic processing with a choice between built-in sequencing and MIDI control.
