Lexicon PSP 42 by PSP Audioware is a stereo delay and phrase sampler inspired by the classic Lexicon PCM42 hardware processor. It pairs clear digital echoes with tape-style saturation and a variable-rate delay line, letting you move from polished repeats to warm, vintage-flavoured textures. Tempo-locked feedback and high-frequency absorption help echoes sit behind vocals, leads and solo instruments, while delay-time and pitch modulation bring movement to drum loops and rhythmic parts. Shorter settings open up flanging and doubling effects; more extreme modulation produces strange pitch shifts and experimental soundscapes. Adjusting the delay line’s sampling rate also creates smooth lo-fi colours. Suited to hobby producers who want more than a straightforward echo, PSP 42 offers a creative way to add depth, character and motion to individual tracks.
