Slappy

Slappy by Denise Audio is a slapback delay plugin that pairs short echoes with warm, tape-inspired saturation. Use it to give guitars a classic slapback character, add a vintage touch to vocals, or bring extra bounce to drums. Its hysteresis saturation uses a smoothing algorithm to soften the harsh high-end character that regular digital saturation can produce, aiming for the rounded, analogue sound associated with vintage tape machines. The same saturation approach also appears in Denise Audio’s Bad Tape plugin. Designed for quick results rather than complicated setup, Slappy suits hobby producers who want an easy way to add character to a track. Very low CPU usage makes it a practical choice when keeping a session lightweight matters.
