The Foundry

The Foundry is a Kontakt-based sound design instrument for producers, composers, and sound designers who want to build evolving textures rather than browse endless presets. Drawing on over 18,000 samples, it combines sustained beds and pads, atonal textures, one-shot effects, and rhythmic kits. Its Adjective Assignable Randomizer Engine generates patches from descriptive choices such as dark, pulsing, or mysterious, giving you a starting point shaped around a mood. Layer up to four core sounds, process them independently, and blend them using an X-Y pad, velocity, key range, or MIDI CC. A three-mode step sequencer helps turn source material into rhythms, leads, and chord patterns, while granular processing, six modulators, and over 60 Body Designer types offer further transformation. It suits atmospheric scoring, experimental electronic production, and anyone looking to create distinctive pads, transitions, and animated soundscapes.
