BASiS by Vir2 Instruments is a Kontakt Player bass instrument that brings electric, fretless, upright, and synth bass sounds into one collection. Its 7 GB-plus library covers familiar Jazz Bass, P-Bass, Rickenbacker, and Musicman tones alongside characterful options inspired by Motown, gospel, and classic fretless playing. Use it for grounded rock lines, rounded soul grooves, expressive acoustic parts, or weighty electronic bass. Electric instruments offer phase-aligned DI and amp blending, while the upright lets you balance DI with a tube microphone recording. Multiple velocity layers, release samples, and articulations such as slides, hammer-ons, pull-offs, and slaps help programmed parts feel more natural. Legato and customizable vibrato controls add expression, with onboard EQ and effects for shaping the result.
