Mezza Coda

Mezza Coda is a sampled baby grand piano instrument with a vintage, gritty character. It captures the rich, authentic tone of a baby grand, then adds two unique signal layers: a cassette layer processed through an old Portastudio for warm, lo-fi saturation, and a Distbox layer that uses the same tape machine as a distortion unit for raw, edgy texture. Three stereo mic positions—room and two spot pairs (ribbons and large-diaphragm condensers)—give you full tonal control, while onboard reverb and delay sends, a tilt-style Color knob, and a Cassette section with Crunch and Lo-Fi macros let you shape the sound further. Ideal for media scoring, jazz, pop, and electronica, Mezza Coda suits producers seeking a characterful piano that blends warmth, clarity, and nostalgic grit.
