Tenebrae

Tenebrae is a collaboration between MNTRA Instruments and LA artist SNAKES OF RUSSIA, delivering a collection of dark, texturally rich playable soundscapes. Built from complex modular synth patches, heavy analog subs, gritty drum samples, and screeching bowed instruments, all processed through rare outboard gear and tape, it exudes a unique world of dirt and darkness. Powered by the MNDALA 2 engine, Tenebrae includes 170+ presets—79 crafted by SNAKES OF RUSSIA, plus 70 Elements and 27 Atelier presets—and two exclusive effects: BESTIAE (destructive filters, drive, compression) and DIRTY BUCKETS (gritty bucket brigade delay reverbs). With up to 13 round robins and 24-bit/96 kHz samples, it offers expressive, evolving textures ideal for producers of dark ambient, industrial, and cinematic music seeking evocative, analog-flavored sonic landscapes.
