Quad Comp

Quad Comp by IK Multimedia is a multiband dynamics processor that splits your audio into up to four user-defined frequency bands, each with its own full-featured opto-style compressor. You get independent threshold, ratio, attack, release, and gain controls per band, plus solo and mute buttons for auditioning. Filter slopes are selectable from 6 dB/Oct up to 24 dB/Oct, and even at the steepest setting the crossovers stay transparent and musical without phasing artifacts. Because gain reduction only happens when a band’s level exceeds its threshold, Quad Comp works like a dynamic EQ—taming peaks and resonances only where needed. It’s ideal on the stereo master bus for evening out problem frequencies, and equally useful on individual tracks with shifting frequency content.
