Reel ADT is a plugin that recreates the original Abbey Road automatic double-tracking effect, developed by Ken Townsend for John Lennon and the Beatles. Unlike simple delay-based doublers, it uses two modeled tape machines—source and double—each with independent saturation, wow and flutter, and pitch fluctuations. This creates the impression of two distinct vocal takes from a single performance, with the doubled sound sometimes ahead and sometimes behind the original, constantly fluctuating for a richer, more rhythmic effect. Use it to thicken vocals, widen guitars, or add depth to any track. Tape speed can be controlled manually, via LFO, synced to your host, or randomly, and a low-latency mode suits live performance. It’s ideal for hobby producers seeking authentic vintage character in FL Studio, Ableton, or Logic.
