Analog Obsession CHANNEV is a free channel-strip effect that brings preamp coloration, EQ, dynamics control and tape saturation into one plugin. It suits hobby producers who want to shape vocals, instruments or buses without assembling a separate processor for every task.

The mic preamp offers up to 60 dB of virtual gain, plus a pad and polarity inversion. Shelf EQ and high-pass/low-pass filters provide initial tone shaping, while the de-esser includes Bell and Soft options for controlling sharp high frequencies. A line-amp stage is also included.

For more detailed adjustments, the four-band, 81-style equalizer uses continuously variable frequencies. The outer bands can switch to bell curves, the mid bands offer Hi-Q settings, and additional post-filters help refine the result. Separate 2264-inspired compressor and limiter sections each support an external sidechain. Tape saturation adds color and helps bring the processed signal together.

Fixed 2x oversampling is designed to keep CPU demands modest. Windows VST and VST3 versions suit compatible hosts such as FL Studio and Ableton Live; the Mac AU version also supports Logic workflows. Version 1.1 fixes the limiter’s dry/wet control.
