Analog Obsession PreBOX v1.0 is a free preamp and distortion effect for producers who want to explore different tonal colours without a complicated control panel. Its 11 selectable preamp models offer a choice of characters for shaping audio, making it useful for hobby musicians working on individual tracks or experimenting with saturation.

The input control provides ±24 dB of gain with automatic gain compensation, while a separate ±24 dB output control lets you adjust the final level. Built-in filters help narrow the frequency range: the high-pass selector offers flat, 80 Hz, 300 Hz and combined 300+80 Hz settings, and the low-pass filter switches between flat and 3 kHz.

Clicking the Analog Obsession label enables 4x oversampling, with a red label indicating that it is active. The interface scales from 50% to 200%, and saving a default preset in your DAW can retain your preferred size for new instances.

For Windows 10–11, PreBOX is available in VST3 and AAX Native/AudioSuite formats and requires OpenGL-capable graphics. Its VST3 version suits compatible hosts such as FL Studio and Ableton Live.
