Analog Obsession MAXBAX is a free EQ plugin built around a fully passive Baxandall design, with an additional midrange band for more targeted tonal shaping. Previously named MASBAX, it suits hobby producers who want to adjust bass, mids and treble using fixed frequency choices and repeatable gain settings rather than continuously variable controls.

The low band offers six frequencies from 20 to 120 Hz, while the mid band spans 200 Hz to 7 kHz. High-frequency selections run from 9 to 40 kHz. Each band uses 0.5 dB boost and cut increments, and the output control provides ±6 dB of adjustment in the same steps for balancing the level after EQ changes.

MAXBAX supports dual-mono and mid/side processing, letting you work with separate left and right channels or address the centre and sides of a stereo signal. A link switch couples the left and right controls when matching adjustments are needed. Windows VST and VST3 versions suit compatible hosts such as FL Studio and Ableton Live; the Mac release also includes AU for Logic Pro.
