The internally compensated input offers up to 40 dB of gain, while the output ranges from -30 to +30 dB. Attack times span 0.1–2 ms and release runs from 30–580 ms, with selectable ratios of 2:1, 4:1, 8:1 and 12:1. These controls let you adjust how quickly OSS responds and how firmly it reduces dynamics.

The detector section includes a 20–500 Hz high-pass filter, adjustable mid-frequency emphasis and high-frequency compression control.
