Analog Obsession YALA v6.0 is a free vari-mu-style compressor and limiter for producers who want level control with added saturation. It suits hobby music makers looking to explore how input drive and compression interact, rather than relying on a compressor solely for transparent dynamics processing.

The VOLUME control provides up to 30 dB of input boost or attenuation, letting you push the modeled circuit harder for more saturation and compression. A separate threshold control sets when compression begins, while ATTEN adjusts the output level afterward. Attack is fixed at 10 ms, and release ranges from 300 ms to 1.5 seconds.

A 20–500 Hz sidechain high-pass filter reduces the influence of bass frequencies on compression detection; it does not remove bass from the audio itself. External sidechain support lets another signal trigger compression. Oversampling is accessed through the Analog Obsession label, and version 6.0 includes a resizable interface.

For Windows 10–11, YALA is available in VST3 and AAX formats, making the VST3 version suitable for compatible hosts such as FL Studio and Ableton Live. This version has no wet/dry mix control.
