Heavyocity ASCEND: Modern Grand is a cinematic piano instrument for Kontakt and Kontakt Player, built around a deeply sampled nine-foot Concert D grand. Recorded in a historic New York studio, it delivers warm, detailed piano tones and delicate pianissimo performances for intimate melodies, emotional film cues, and atmospheric productions. Beyond traditional grand piano sounds, prepared articulations using brushes, ebows, chains, and twine open up a more experimental palette. The ASCEND engine combines 16 sound sources with a Three Point Mixer for real-time blending, while rhythmic convolutions, an arpeggiator, and the Echoes feature turn simple playing into evolving musical textures. With 110 snapshot presets spanning core piano, extended sounds, and rhythmic material, ASCEND suits hobby producers and composers who want both an expressive acoustic foundation and creative sound-design possibilities.
