Aspen Instruments Black Diamond Distortion v1.0.14 VST3 AU WiN MAC

Black Diamond Distortion is a flexible distortion engine from Aspen Instruments, the company’s first plugin release. It covers a wide range of tones, from subtle preamp-style warmth to aggressive modern waveshaping. You can start with a curated preset library that includes classic hardware-inspired designs, or build your own distortion from scratch using four editing modes. Harmonic Mode offers quick, musical results by controlling which harmonics are excited, with an algorithm that keeps distortion mix-friendly. Spline Mode lets you shape the transfer curve by dragging a few powerful anchors, encouraging broad changes. Brush Mode adds texture and irregularity—draw the curve pixel by pixel, or use the Roller Brush for smoother results, plus texture brushes for controlled noise. Equation Mode lets you define distortion mathematically for advanced users. It’s aimed at hobby producers who want an intuitive yet deep distortion tool for mixing and sound design in any DAW.
