Bertom Phantom Center is a free stereo imaging effect for producers who want to separate and shape the perceived center of a stereo signal. Rather than using conventional mid/side processing, it extracts the phantom center while keeping the left and right components less correlated. Hard-panned sounds stay on their original side instead of appearing in the extracted center or spilling into the opposite channel.
High-pass and low-pass controls set the frequency range retained in the center. Material outside that range is routed back to the side channels, letting you adjust how different frequencies are distributed across the stereo image. For more detailed processing, Phantom Center also supports separate left, center and right channels; setup instructions are covered in the user guide.
It suits hobby producers and mix engineers exploring center-versus-side processing without relying on a standard mid/side split. The extraction is deliberately assertive, so audition the results carefully: this is not a processor designed specifically for upmixing. Version 1.0.8 adds persistent global interface scaling and includes a Windows installer fix for 32-bit operating systems.
