BFD Sphere

BFD Sphere brings detailed acoustic drum sounds to BFD3, with a focus on the weight and definition needed for hard rock and metal. Created around Tesseract founder Acle Kahney’s ideal drum sound, this expansion pairs four-tom DW and Vibe kits with a Ludwig Black Beauty snare. Sessions took place at London’s Sphere Studios with engineer Francesco Cameli, featuring performances by Jamie Postones and Mike Malyan. Room-conscious tuning and Neve preamps help give the recordings warmth, clarity and a strong live-room character. Choose natural versions when you want to shape the drums yourself, or processed alternatives designed to slot into heavier mixes. Presets combine the kits with factory BFD cymbals and hi-hats. Aimed at producers building modern heavy tracks, Sphere requires BFD3; the included snare offers Hit and Rimshot articulations only.
