Bowed Bucket

Soundiron Bowed Bucket turns a homemade instrument built from a five-gallon plastic bucket, a wooden beam and cello strings into an expressive Kontakt library. Bowed tones deliver thick lows, gritty growl and a clear attack, recalling an electric cello with a rougher, more unusual character. Plucked strings and drumstick hits add melodic accents and hollow plastic percussion, while processed leads, pads, drones and FX open up atmospheric territory. Recorded close and dry, the sounds suit experimental beats, cinematic textures and offbeat arrangements without imposing a roomy ambience. The Kontakt interface provides envelope, vibrato, pitch and filter controls alongside articulation switching, crossfading and layering. An adaptable LFO, customizable arpeggiator and 22 sound-designed FX presets offer further movement and variation. It’s a distinctive choice for producers and composers looking beyond conventional strings and drums.
