Tape Cassette 2 is a free audio plugin that recreates the warm, noisy character of vintage cassette tapes. It uses a selectable Type 1 cassette impulse response, a dynamic saturation algorithm with hysteresis and oversampling, and rebuilt wow & flutter engines for smoother pitch drift. Real sampled tape noise and a low-pass filter that extends down to 5 kHz let you add authentic texture to individual channels or an entire mix. Controls include saturation (±24 dB), low-pass filtering (5–22 kHz), noise (-80 to 0 dB), wow and flutter (0–100%), plus oversampling up to 16x. Two VU meters help you monitor levels. This plugin suits hobby producers using FL Studio, Ableton Live, or Logic on Windows or Mac who want to add vintage movement, warmth, and character to their tracks.
