Cassette Mallets.01 – Multi-Format Bundle

Cassette Mallets.01 by THEPHONOLOOP is a multi-format instrument bundle built around three bell and mallet sounds recorded through an old, unstable cassette recorder. Combining physical modeling and FM synthesis with tape imperfections, it delivers an organic, vintage character suited to mellow melodies, atmospheric chords and repeating patterns. Each instrument spans E2–E6 with three velocity layers, while simulated round robin helps repeated notes feel more natural. Adjust the sample start to soften the attack, or use the octave-down switch to explore deeper tones. Carefully denoised samples keep chords from accumulating hiss; a separate noise control lets you blend texture back in to taste. The bundle includes Kontakt 5, Ableton Live 9, Logic and SFZ versions, with 31 presets in the Kontakt and Ableton editions. It suits producers looking for playable mallet textures with character and straightforward sound shaping.
