CodeFN42 Chordz is a free 64-bit Windows VST MIDI utility that turns individual notes into complete chords. It suits hobby producers who want to sketch progressions from a keyboard, drum pad or piano roll without playing every chord tone by hand.
Assign a different chord to each trigger note, then build custom voicings with notes extending up to two octaves above and below the trigger octave. Scale-based suggestions help you choose diatonic chords, while Easy Mode maps chord triggers to white keys and leaves black keys available for variations.
For live playing, split the keyboard into a central chord zone and two single-note zones, each with independent octave transposition. Optional scale restriction keeps those single-note parts within your chosen key. Per-note velocity scaling, randomization and adjustable start/end delays let you vary dynamics and introduce strum-like timing.
Chordz includes over 40 scale/chord templates and more than 50 chord types, with editable templates and on-screen chord customization. Its virtual keyboard guides also make it useful for exploring harmony. Use it in a compatible Windows VST host, such as FL Studio or Ableton Live, to drive an instrument.
