Cylindrum

Soundiron Cylindrum is a tuned percussion instrument library with a distinctive voice somewhere between resonant toms and an organic synthesizer. Sampled from a custom-built, 20-foot pipe instrument spanning four octaves, it offers three contrasting sound sets: dry small, dry fat and wet. The dry recordings bring focused resonance to arpeggiated melodies and driving bass lines, while the hall-recorded wet set adds spacious stereo depth and forceful attacks for cinematic scoring and percussion layering. Detailed velocity layers and round-robin variations help repeated notes feel expressive rather than mechanical. Beyond the core percussion, Cylindrum includes 13 sound-designed atmospheric ambiences, an adjustable LFO, 12 filter types, an advanced arpeggiator and key and scale locking. It suits producers and composers looking for unusual melodic percussion, weighty rhythmic textures and experimental sounds that retain an acoustic character.
