DAWSound v1.20 is a Windows MIDI controller application for producers who want a custom control surface for their DAW, software synths or MIDI hardware. It runs as a separate program rather than a VST plugin, with support for both mouse input and multi-touch operation.

Build as many layouts as you need using a visual editor, combining faders, knobs, buttons, text labels and XY pads. Adjust each control’s appearance, MIDI assignments and value limits to match your setup. Buttons can trigger notes, transmit CC messages, switch layouts or send keyboard shortcuts to Windows applications. XY pads handle two CC parameters together, while faders and knobs offer reverse operation and automatic return values.

Two-way MIDI communication lets incoming messages update the on-screen controls, and a real-time monitor displays incoming and outgoing MIDI activity. Layouts also remember their screen positions and support custom background images.

For hobby producers using MIDI-capable Windows software such as FL Studio or Ableton Live, DAWSound offers a way to build task-specific control panels. It requires Windows 7, 10 or 11, .NET 4.8 or later, and a MIDI interface or virtual MIDI cable.
