FG-Stress

FG-Stress is a meticulous digital recreation of the Empirical Labs Distressor, one of the most revered analog compressors in studio history. What sets it apart is its faithful modeling of every ratio as a distinct compressor topology, capturing the hardware’s unique behavior and versatility. This means you can dial in the aggressive, punchy character of classic VCAs, the warmth of fat tube compressors, or the smooth, vintage vibe of opto units—all from a single plugin. Whether you’re tracking vocals, slamming drums, or adding glue to a mix bus, FG-Stress delivers the same sonic flexibility and attitude as the original. It integrates seamlessly into the Virtual Mix Rack, making it easy to build custom chains. Ideal for hobby producers and seasoned engineers alike who want authentic analog color and dynamic control in their DAW.
