Hammered Dulcimer v2

Hammered Dulcimer v2 by Cinematique Instruments brings the ringing, naturally chorused character of 31 paired string courses to your productions. This sampled instrument offers three distinct articulations: traditional wooden Mallet, drum Sticks, and Muted hits played with a timpani mallet while damping the strings by hand. Blend a top-mounted stereo microphone pair with a single microphone beneath the instrument to shape its tone. Four round-robin variations and up to four velocity layers add variety to repeated notes and dynamic passages. For rolling tremolos, choose between key-release note repetition for hands-on rhythmic control or mod-wheel control of tremolo speed. Its bright strikes and shimmering textures suit folk-inspired arrangements, cinematic cues, and atmospheric electronic tracks. It’s a useful choice for producers and composers seeking an acoustic string sound with more percussive bite than a typical plucked instrument.
