Oud v1.5

Oud v1.5 by Cinematique Instruments brings the expressive character of a traditional Persian string instrument into modern productions. Built from approximately 1,700 samples, it pairs an organic, nylon-string sound with tools for exploring more adventurous textures. Four core articulations—rischa, thumb, mallet and hammer—offer contrasting attacks, while slide modulation, slide-up and slide-down articulations, and a tremolo engine add movement to melodic phrases. Shape the envelope for different responses, then colour the result with rotary, cabinet, delay, reverb and tone controls. Five reverb types range from intimate room ambience to expansive space and infinite settings. Version 1.5 adds presets, an arpeggiator and an updated interface. Suited to producers and composers seeking distinctive plucked melodies, atmospheric layers or folk-inspired arrangements, Oud balances traditional string character with flexible sound-shaping options.
