PreFET

Accentize PreFET is a transistor saturation effect that brings the character of a 1970s tabletop cassette recorder’s preamp into your productions. Rather than modelling an entire tape machine, it focuses on the transistor preamp stage, using a trained artificial neural network to recreate its behaviour. The Drive setting takes the sound from gentle analogue colour to heavy overdrive, giving you room to add a little grit or make distortion part of the arrangement. Try subtle settings when a synth, drum loop or bass part feels too clean, then push harder for rougher textures and more obvious edge. Built around the same machine-learning approach as Accentize PreTube, PreFET suits producers who want vintage-inspired preamp character, whether they’re adding understated saturation or exploring deliberately driven sounds.
