Serenity is a free virtual instrument for Windows and macOS that builds calm, atmospheric soundscapes from ten separate layers. Four of those layers are pads and textures made with the Deepmind analog synthesizer, while the other six are 24-bit/96 kHz field recordings. Each layer has its own pan control and assignable output, so you can route and process sounds separately in your DAW. The top panel has four main selectors—three for the pads and one for texture amount—and the bottom section lets you blend the field recordings in or out. In the middle you get reverb, LFO controls, a highpass/lowpass filter, and an ADSR envelope. The layout is straightforward and readable, which makes it easy to shape evolving ambient beds, cinematic backgrounds, or quiet pads without menu diving. It suits hobby producers working in FL Studio, Ableton Live, or Logic who want a lightweight, free source of relaxing textures. Available as VST3 and AU for 64-bit systems.
