Red Rock Sound AQ550b is a four-band equalizer for Windows that brings late-1960s American EQ character to modern mixing workflows. It suits home producers and mixing engineers who want straightforward tonal shaping for individual tracks, buses, and more complex channel layouts.

Each band offers seven selectable frequencies, with generous overlap between bands for both corrective adjustments and broader tonal enhancement. Proportional Q automatically changes the filter width: gentle boosts or cuts use a wider curve, while stronger adjustments produce a narrower response. This keeps bandwidth decisions tied to the amount of EQ applied, without a separate Q control.

For flexible processing, AQ550b includes four EQ units arranged in series, each assignable to selected channels. You can use different settings for mid and side signals, stereo channels, or specific channels in an immersive mix. Unit naming, solo, bypass, and settings copying help keep these configurations manageable.

Routing includes 44 preset channel layouts, plus custom profiles supporting up to 16 independent channels. Windows formats include VST2 and VST3 in 32-bit and 64-bit versions, with AAX available in 64-bit.
