McDSP SA-2 Dialog Processor HD v7 shapes recorded speech with five independent bands of active equalization, helping dialogue sit clearly alongside music and effects. Based on hardware conceived by re-recording mixer Mike Minkler, it also works on sung vocals, taming sibilance and refining tonal balance with frequency-selective compression. Each band has its own threshold and enable switch, while selectable processing modes adjust response behavior and band placement. Frequency Shift, Range and Monitor controls offer further ways to tailor processing, supported by signal-reduction metering. Zero-latency algorithms, double-precision processing and mono or stereo versions make it useful for dialogue editors, vocal mixers and producers working with spoken-word material. This HD edition is intended for AAX DSP users; a separate Native version is available.
