SampleScience Toy Keyboard v3 is a free sampled keyboard instrument and sample library built around the sounds of the Yamaha PSR-78 home keyboard. It brings that keyboard’s sound palette into a software-based music setup, letting you work with recorded sounds from the hardware rather than keeping the original instrument on your desk. The sounds have been sampled throughout, with loops applied where appropriate to support sustained notes.
For hobby producers, it offers a way to explore home-keyboard tones in new tracks. Use it when you want a keyboard part with the character of this particular Yamaha model, or when you would rather start with sampled sounds than build a patch from scratch. It is also relevant to musicians who enjoy revisiting familiar home keyboards through software.
The listed Windows download is 218 MB. FL Studio and Ableton Live users looking for a free keyboard instrument can consider it for their setup, but should confirm the included plugin format and compatibility before installing.
