Spectrasonics Trilian v1.6.4c is a bass instrument for Windows, built for producers who need acoustic, electric and synth bass sounds in one workspace. It suits hobby musicians programming electronic basslines, arranging sampled band parts or recording expressive keyboard performances in FL Studio and Ableton Live.

Its 34GB sound library combines detailed sampling with patch-specific controls for adjusting tone, performance behaviour and effects. Legato transitions, glide articulations, mechanical noises and release overtones help sampled bass parts feel less rigid. The acoustic bass alone uses over 21,000 samples across four audio channels.

A resizable HiDPI interface makes the controls easier to fit into different studio setups. For rhythmic writing, the arpeggiator offers pattern modes, step modifiers, chord voicings, pitch slides and MIDI file capture. Built-in processing includes compression, EQ, distortion, modulation, delay and reverb.

Omnisphere users can access Trilian through its interface, while an additional collection of over 200 patches requires Omnisphere 2. The standalone app also includes Flow Capture, which records audio, MIDI and the Trilian sound together. Version 1.6.4c adds an “Any” MIDI channel routing option to the MIX channel menus.
