TVHS

TVHS by Thenatan Audio is a tape-transport and CRT television emulator for Mac and Windows, built from real hardware physics rather than vintage presets. It models wow, flutter, and scrape via filtered noise—never a looping LFO—so pads drift organically without cycling. Dropouts follow a Poisson process, clumping naturally instead of ticking on a grid. The compander mistracking, head-switching seam, and flyback whine are all recreated, with ten tape-head impulse responses adding authentic character. A single Tone knob sweeps from wide AFM hi-fi to narrow linear edge track, thickening worn dubs. The television half adds headswitch glitches and CRT line-transformer whine with NTSC/PAL switching. Use it to age pads, drums, and full mixes with unstable, living degradation. Ideal for hobby producers chasing lo-fi, ambient, and experimental textures in FL Studio, Ableton, or Logic.
