Typewriter

Wavesfactory Typewriter turns a vintage Royal typewriter into a playable Kontakt instrument, bringing mechanical clicks, paper rustles, rolls and percussive hits to your tracks. It suits producers and composers looking for quirky rhythmic layers, tactile sound design or vintage office ambience. Three velocity layers and 10 round robins add variation, while separate note-on, note-off and one-shot samples capture more than just the keys. Blend four microphone perspectives—close stereo, stereo ribbon, mono and stereo room—with controls for pan, width, level and separate outputs. Shape the recordings with up to eight DSP effects, including chorus, saturation, EQ and convolution reverb with over 40 custom impulses. Deeper settings let you adjust round robin repetitions, release volume, velocity response and individual sample timing. Typewriter requires the full version of Kontakt; the free Kontakt Player runs it in demo mode only.
